Living My Blessed Life
I guess it’s the Miami in me, but I always get a burst of excitement when the weather is hot enough for me to walk outside and the warm air greets me. I have never been fond of the cold. I’m good through Christmas and New Year’s Day and then I’m completely over it. I am definitely a warm weather girl. What the warm weather always reminds me to do is live a little. The cold can be very restrictive, from the clothes we wear to having to be inside because temperatures are so low. During the summer we can go out and play, literally.
As the Memorial Day weekend has come upon us, the sounding alarm for summer for those of us who live in the US, I am reminded of this. We give struggle so much room in our lives. We often talk about our struggles way more than our triumphs, like there is a special badge of honor for the person that struggles the most. Yes, struggle and hardship have a part to play in how our lives are shaped but we can’t stay stuck there. Your life being good is not an indication that something bad is about to happen. Simply accept that life is good. We often miss this because we are always waiting for the ball to drop and to be carried back to our struggles. The loving God I trust and believe in would not give me a life full of sorrow.
I’m writing this from experience. I would pray to God for joy and peace but remain tethered to past hurt and pain. God wasn’t making me stay there I was choosing too. I’ve learned how to reflect on the good in my life and learn from the hard times. I see my life from the perspective that everything in my life is good because even hardships are working for my good. There is a joy I have in life’s process because I have chosen to look at what I am going through in a different light. When I chose joy over pain my life changed. I am a firm believer that we attract the energy we give out. The more joy and peace you pour out the more you receive.
This summer I give myself permission to have fun and to not take myself so seriously. I give myself room to appreciate all that I have been blessed with and the life I have been given. I ask you to do the same. Take time to reflect on all the things in your life that are good, I assure you happiness is around the corner. It’s your choice.
With Love,
Cree
